|Mrs. Cynthia Louise Cheatham Bailey, formerly of 923 Wills Road (Blandford Community), departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-Walnut Hill, Petersburg, VA.
She was born in Chesterfield County, VA to the late Willie Cheatham and Essie Goode Cheatham. Cynthia was educated in the Chesterfield Public Schools. She was an active member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA until her health began to decline.
Mrs. Bailey was predeceased by her husband, Charles M. Bailey and a son, Charles E. Bailey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Blanche Gloria Harris (William Leroy) of Chester, VA and Cynthia J. Bailey of San Diego, CA; one son, Joe T. Bailey of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Terri Whitmore (Tyler), Theresa Melvin, Lawrence Harris, Darrell Harris (Linda), Michael Harris (Karen), Gary Harris, and Jeffery Harris; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mae C. Dunmore of Richmond, VA and Mrs. Ruby Finley of Balitmore, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the staff of Golden Living Center-Walnut Hill who lovingly cared for her during the past eleven years.
A funeral service for Mrs. Cynthia L. Bailey will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Rev. Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin, Pastor of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA, Eulogist. The interment to follow in the Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
